Though the party will not collaborate with the Congress in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, SP has decided not to field any candidate in Congress bastion Raibareli and Amethi headed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi respectively.

The sources said that the SP was not willing to ally with the Congress as it lost the 2017 assembly polls fought in an alliance with the party.

The SP has however confirmed that their alliance with BSamaj Samaja Party (BSP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) was intact.
