
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Kedarnath on a two-day visit.
The visit comes a day after the campaign closed for general election 2019.
Stringent security arrangements have been made for the prime minister's visit, DGP (law and order) Ashok Kumar said.
Modi will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
This is Modi's fourth visit to the holy shrine.
The portals of both the shrines were reopened for devotees after winter break early this month.
On May 19, 59 parliamentary constituencies, including Varanasi, from where Modi is contestingwill go to polls in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
The results of 2019 Lok Sabha polls willbe announced on May 23.
