Indian security forces gun down three terrorists in J-K's Baramulla

Three terrorists were gunned down in the Baramulla encounter.

An encounter broke out between terrorists andIndian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Saturday (Sept 14). In a post, the Chinar Corps of the army said that the encounter broke out in Baramulla'sChak Tapar Kreeri area.

The operation was launched by the army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

"Based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the intervening night of 13-14 Sep 24 in general area Chak Tapar Kreeri, Baramulla. Contact was established and a firefight ensued," the Chinar Corps added.

Security forces gunned down three terrorists and the operation was in progress.

Search operation continues in Kishtwar

The above operation in Baramulla comes as an encounter broke out in the Kishtwar district on Friday.

"Based on the intelligence inputs, a joint operation with J&K Police was launched in area Chatroo at Kishtwar. A contact was established and the scout leading the patrol exchanged heavy volume of fire with the terrorists at 15.30 hrs," the White Knight Corps said in a post on X.

Two army soldiers lost their lives in the operation.

As of Saturday, the search operation continued in Kishtwar, a report by the news agency ANI said.

Meanwhile, in a separate encounter, troops of the Rising Star Corps unit shot dead two terrorists in Kathua on Friday.
