<p>An encounter broke out between terrorists and&nbsp;Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Saturday (Sept 14). In a post, the Chinar Corps of the army said that the encounter broke out in Baramulla's&nbsp;Chak Tapar Kreeri area.</p>

<p>The operation was launched by the army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.</p>

<p>"Based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the intervening night of 13-14 Sep 24 in general area Chak Tapar Kreeri, Baramulla. Contact was established and a firefight ensued," the Chinar Corps added.</p>

<p>"Based on the intelligence inputs, a joint operation with J&amp;K Police was launched in area Chatroo at Kishtwar.&nbsp; A contact was established and the scout leading the patrol exchanged heavy volume of fire with the terrorists at 15.30 hrs," the White Knight Corps said in a post on X.</p>

<p>Two army soldiers lost their lives in the operation.</p>
