The Delhi Patiala House Court has issued a fresh production warrantagainst Abu Salem in 2002 businessman extortion case.

The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for February 16.

On January 15, he had claimed that there was not much evidence available against him in the case.

He also said that he was being tried in the case in violation of the order by which he was brought from Portugal to India in 2005.

Salem has already been given a bail in the case. However, he remains in the jail after being convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

A TADA court had sentenced Abu Salem to life imprisonment in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case in September 2017.
