The Delhi ministers have been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past 6 days at LG's residence

As the tussle between the AAP and the Centre reached the eighth day on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNGP) Hospital in Delhi.

Sisodia was hospitalisedafter his ketone level reached 7.4 after a week's indefinite hunger strike.

According to a doctor, his blood sugar level yesterday was 49 units (mg/dL) while the ketone level was found to be "large". However, his blood pressure reading was 120/82.

The Delhi minister had been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 13 at LG's residence.

AAP leader and Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain was also shiftedto thehospital on Sunday.

The condition of Jain is stable even though he has been kept in the ICU of the LNJP Hospital, a doctor said.

J C Passey, medical superintendent of the LNJP Hospital, said that Jain was shifted at 11.50 pm yesterday after he complained of a headache , nausea, abdomen pain, respiratory difficulties and urine retention.

Passey said he is not taking food orally and is being given glucose, electrolytes and medication for symptomatic relief intravenously.

"Our team of specialists has examined him again today and has advised some investigations. He is likely to be kept in the ICU for the next 24 hours for observation," he said.

The protest that seeks an end to the Delhi IAS officers' undeclared strike and approval to his government's proposal for doorstep delivery of ration to the poor has reached the eighth day today.
