Netizens angry at Ashneer Grover for threatening comics with legal action after roast show

Comicstaan 3 winner Aashish Solanki took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal that episode 5 of Pretty Good Roast Show was removed from YouTube to avoid a "legal battle". While an edited version of the episode was released which didn't mention the name of the guest, many speculated that the guest was none other than Shark Tank fame Ashneer Grover.

Furious netizens are slamming theformer managing director of BharatPe for threatening the comics with legal action due to the roast episode.

Aashish wrote in his post, "Ep 5 of Pretty Good Roast hata diya hai dosto. Legal Battle ladne ka paisa nahi hai. Sab show pe laga diya tha. (We have removed episode 5 because we don't have money to fight a legal battle. We spent everything on the show.)

"The response to previous episodes led us to believe our audiences were ready for roast humour. However, it seems that some, especially those in power, are not quite there yet. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Stay tuned for the next episode, coming soon! Love Aashish. (sic)."

Reacting to the update, a netizen slammed Ashneer and wrote, "@Ashneer_Grover not done... you ruined his (Aashish's) whole episode, hard work, money."

Another commented, "I’ve been seeing every episode of this show, with no sponsor it would be especially hard for him to organise the show – you can’t just pull out of a show just like this."

A third user said, "Hope people stop giving that chapri @Ashneer_Grover this much attention. He’s the Rakhi Sawant of the startup world."

Meanwhile, a fourth comment read, "Why did he even go there if he can’t handle it and has such a fragile ego? The other person spent a lot of money on the show, and it isn’t sponsored by anyone. The roasters gave their valuable time and effort to write jokes."

During the roast, Aashish joked about Ashneer's departer fromFintech platform BharatPe oncharges of embezzlement of funds.

The case is being heard in court. Aashish also joked about Ashneer's stint in Shark Tank and his viral memes.

While the audience had a gala time at the roast show, it is safe to say that Ashneer didn't like it all and didn't want people to see any bits of it.

However, snippets of the episode are going viral on social media and the investor is getting brutally trolled online.
