'Mulan' trailer: Liu Yifei shines in titular role in Disney's live-action remake

As the world crushed over trailer teaser a couple of weeks ago, makers of Disney’s live-action remake of 1998 animated movie, ‘Mulan’ is now out with the first full-length trailer of the film. 

Starring Chinese-born actress Liu Yifei in the titular role, ‘Mulan’ is the story of a woman warrior joining the Imperial Army as a boy after her father couldn’t join because of an ailment. 

The trailer gives a detailer into Mulan’s backstory -- her ailing father, family and her family’s pride. The trailer, however, focuses on Mulan’s battles more than anything else. You will see her loyalty, bravery and much more!

The trailer also gives a preview of ‘Mulan’’s villain, a mysterious witch named Xian Lang -- essayed by Gong Li. 

The film, Mulan’s official synopsis is as such: When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honoured warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honoured warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.
