Actor Kevin Spacey defends himself in London court, says he had consensual relationships

Disgraced Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey is currently facing trial for several sexual assault allegations in a London court. The two-time Academy Award winner has been accused by four men, who have alleged that Kevin sexually assaulted them between 2001 and 2013.

Just two weeks after the case was started in London Court, Kevin took the stand to defend himself and prove that he was innocent. In Southwark Crown Court, the actor, who swore to speak the truth, denied having non-consensual sex.

Kevin also said that he could not believe that one of the complainants would stab him in the back,''never thought that (the man) Iknew would … 20 years later stab me in the back," he said.

Putting his side of the story forward, Spacey described his relationship with one of the complainants as a "funny and charming, and flirtatious" one, BBC reported.

"It became somewhat sexual, but we never had sex together, because he made it clear he didn’t want to go any further," he said.Asked if he was a flirt, Spacey responded: "Yeah, I am a big flirt." When asked about their relationship with one of the men, Spacey said: "I liked him greatly. We had a good time together. We laughed a lot."

Speaking on the non-consensual accusation, he said: "It didn't happen in a violent, aggressive, painful way. It was gentle and it was touching and it was, in my mind, romantic."

He also said: "We never had sex together because he made it clear that he didn't want to go any further and that happens at times and you just respect how far someone wants to go."

Spacey grabbed a man ‘like a cobra’

Spacey also reacted to one of the accusations by a man claiming that the actor grabbed his crotch like "a cobra''.

"I never said any of the things that he claims I said to him and I wouldn't and never have to anyone in my life," Spacey said.

He added: "It never happened."

Spacey on the oral sex allegation

One complainant accused the actor of performing oral sex and drugging him in his London apartment in the late 2000s. Reacting to this, the actor said, "This is somebody just shaking me down and I've faced this before".

Further addressing the man's allegation that he drugged him,"None of that was true. We had a consensual, I believe nice and lovely evening and then he - if he regretted it immediately, I don't know, I can't speak for him," Spacey said.

Kevin's sexual harassment

The 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor is facing a dozen sexual offences, which are said to have occurred between 2001 and 2013.Prosecutor Christine Agnew told the trial at London's Court that Spacey was a "sexual bully" who had assaulted the four men forhis sexual gratification, per Reuters.

What charges can Kevin face if found guilty?

If the charges levelled against the actor were found to be true, Spacey could face a long time behind bars. Among the 12 charges, the most serious charge that Kevin is facing is engaging a person in penetrative sexual activity without consent. For this, he may face the maximum punishment of life imprisonment.

The actor is one of the Hollywood A-listers who were accused of sexual misconduct by multiple people in 2017 during the #MeToomovement. Actor and singer Anthony Rapp was the first to publicly accuse Spacey of touching him inappropriately at a party in 1986.
