Indian thriller film Berlin recently dropped on OTT platform ZEE5. After making noise in different international film festivals with its engrossing espionage narrative, Berlin is available to stream on OTT.
Directed by Atul Sabharwal, the film features Aparshakti Khurana in the role of Pushkin Verma, a sign-language expert entangled in a web of deceit, and conflicting loyalties. The film also stars Rahul Bose in pivotal role.
Aparshakti Khurana on his equation with Rahul Bose
Speaking to WION, Aparshakti Khurana, who is on a high with the release of his new film, shared an interesting anecdote from the sets of Berlin. He said, “Rahul (Bose) affectionately calls me ‘Punjabi Pushkin’ because of my character’s name, Pushkin, in Berlin. On-screen, my character is calm and composed, but off-camera, I’m quite the opposite. As soon as I hear a cut, I quickly ask Rahul if he wants to grab a cup of chai and chat. I bring that full-on Punjabi energy, which is how the nickname came about.”
Directed by Atul Sabharwal, Berlin boasts a star-studded cast featuring Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, Rahul Bose, Anupriya Goenka, and veteran actor Kabir Bedi.
Set in the intense and politically turbulent environment of New Delhi during the 1990s, the film plunges viewers into a tense world of espionage. The film follows a deaf-mute young man (Ishwak Singh) arrested on suspicion of being a foreign spy. A skilled sign language expert (Aparshakti Khurana) is brought in to interpret, only to find himself entangled in a web of deception. Meanwhile, Rahul Bose is seen as an intelligence officer who is more than what meets the eyes.
