
The 76th Emmy Awards are around the corner, and moviegoers are eagerly waiting for the big night to watch their favourite show winning the coveted trophy.
As we gear up for the night, the Emmys have announced that the famous father-son duo of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will be taking up the hosting duties this time.
This will be the first time in the history of Emmysthat a father and a son will be taking up the hosting duties.
Thrilled with the news, The Levys said in a statement, “For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theatre was incentive enough.”
They added, “We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all on Sept. 15.”
In the pandemic year of2020, Eugene and Dan's famous sitcom Schitt's Creek swept the Emmys night with major wins.

Eugene took the award for Outstanding Comedy Actor, and Dan won for Best Supporting Comedy Actor. With their major wins, they made history as the first-ever father and son duo to win an Emmy in the same year.
Apart from hosting duties, Eugene Levy is one of the nominees for the Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy in the outstanding hosted nonfiction series or special category.
“Eugene’s and Dan’s comedic intuition and uncanny ability to capture the hearts of viewers will make for a memorable Emmys telecast honoring this year’s best and brightest,” said Craig Erwich, president, of Disney Television Group, as per Variety.
If we look at Emmy nominations, The Bear and Shōgun are leading the game. In the drama category, Shōgun led the nominations with 25 nods. Meanwhile, the comedy show, set in a sandwich shop in Chicago, earned a staggering23 nominations.
The 76th Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 15 on ABC. For Indian fans, the awards will be streamed Live on September 16 at 5:30 am (IST) only on Lionsgate Play.
