T20 World Cup 2024: MLC stars Saurabh Netravalkar, Ali Khan,aim to continue USA's historic run
Oracle, the computer software company, congratulated USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar after his bowling heroics propelled his side to a stunning win over Pakistan in match 11 of the 2024 T20 World Cup, being held in the West Indies and the USA, on Thursday (local time). Netravalkar madeheadlines before the mega event when his LinkedIn profile went viral and a colleague of his revealed that he was working with him at Oracle. Notably, Netravalkar represented India in the 2010 U-19 World Cup before moving to the States to study and found a job in Oracle.
Talking about USA's win, Monank Patel & Co. rode on Netravalkar's 2 for 18 and left-arm pacer Nosthush Kenjige's 3 for 30 to restrict Pakistan to 159 for 7. In reply, USA tied the game, scoring159 for 3, riding on their captain's 50 and vice-captain Aaron Jones' 36 not out.
In the Super Over, it was Netravalkar who held his nerves to restrict Pakistan to 13 for 1 after they were asked to chase 19 in the final six balls. Thus, Oracle left a heartfelt message for their employee.
"Congrats @USACricket on a historic result! Proud of the team and our very own engineering and cricket star @Saurabh_Netra," said Oracle.

After the game, USA captain Monank said, at theGrand Prairie Stadium, Dallas,"Winning the toss and the way we bowled in the first 6 overs, we took wickets and kept them quiet. We knew they will take chances after their partnership. We knew we were in the game with 160 to chase, just needed a partnership. Playing in a World Cup, you don’t get a chance to do it every year. We were fully committed every single ball."
USA are at the top of Group A, also comprising India, Canada and Ireland, after two successive wins in the 20-nation tournament. Meanwhile, Pakistan will now gear up to face arch-rivals India on Sunday (June 9) in New York.
