Issues touching on Mexico's relationship with its northern neighbour, including trade, migration and security, played a large role in the election that will send the former president back to the White House in January.

Earlier on Thursday, Sheinbaum said she expected to discuss with Trump "all of the issues on the bilateral agenda."
