Usha Vance’s ancestral village holds prayers for JD Vance in Vadluru
Residents of the ancestral Indian village of Usha Vance, the wife of Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate JDVance, held prayers on Tuesday (November 5), hoping the Republicans would win the elections.
Usha's family is originally from a village called Vadluru in Andhra Pradesh state but moved to Chennai when her paternal grandfather, Ramasastry Chilukuri, went to teach at the IIT there around the time it was set up in 1959, members of the family said.
Her parents moved to the USin the late 1970s and now teach engineering and molecular biology in San Diego.

Vance, 38, made her debut on the USnational political stage in July, when she introduced her husband, USSenator JDVance of Ohio, at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
"We feel generally proud. We will feel proud if she (Usha Vance) comes to power and we hope she will develop this area, particularly Vadluru, and other districts as well as the whole country," said one resident, Venkata Ramana.
