US Secret Service agent robbed at gunpoint during Biden’s Los Angeles visit

A United States (US) Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint as President Joe Biden was visiting Los Angeles over the weekend, the news agency Associated Press reportedciting officials.
On Saturday (June 15)night, the Secret Service agent was returning from workwhen he was accosted in a residential community in Tustin. The report said that someonecalled the Tustin Police Department shortly after 9.30 pm local timeto report the robbery.
According to the police, the agenthad his bag stolen at gunpoint. The agent was not injured butfired his gun during the confrontation, the police added. The agent's identity has not been revealed.
Suspect not yet found
On Monday, the police said that they had not found a suspect.Officers did find some of the agent’s stolen belongings in the area.Police reported a silver Infiniti FX35 was seen leaving the scene.

In Los Angeles, President Biden and former president Barack Obamaheld a star-studded fundraising eventthat brought in more than $30 million for Biden’s reelection campaign.
The Biden campaign hoped the star-studded event would display strength and momentum despite Biden's low approval ratings and concerns about the age of the president, who is 81.
