Harris holds first public rally with running mate Tim Walz, as latter calls Vance 'creepy'

United States Vice-President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris held the first public rally in Philadelphia with her running mate Tim Walz who she called as “the kind of vice-president America deserves”.
The duo kick started their campaign as a “fight for the future”, as thousands of supporters at Temple University’s Liacouras Center cheered and applauded for Harris and Walz.
“Thank you for bringing back the joy,” said a smiling Walz to Harris after she announced him as her running mate.
Walz, who had been a National Guard veteran, former social studies teacher and high school football coach said, “We’ve got 91 days. My God, that’s easy. We’ll sleep when we’re dead.”

While riding the wave of momentum at the unusually exuberant rally, Harris said, “He’s the kind of person who makes people feel like they belong and then inspires them to dream big. "

Tim Walz says 'can't wait to debate' JD Vance
Meanwhile, Walz spoke about his life as he pitched himself as a politician who learned to “compromise without compromising my values” and a midwesterner who followed the “golden rule” when he has to make a personal choice which is “Mind your own damn business.”
He also shared how he and his wife went through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to have their two children after struggling with infertility as he sketched his personal connection with one of the hottest political debates in the country.

“When we welcomed our daughter into the world, we named her Hope,” Walz said.
Speaking about his Republican opponent J D Vance, he said that "can't wait to debate with him".
“These guys are creepy and, yes, just weird as hell. I gotta tell you, I can’t wait to debate the guy,” Walz said, adding, “That is if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”
