The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer Paul Simon announced Monday dates for his“Homeward Bound — The Farewell Tour", his last touring concert.
To begin May 16 in Vancouver, Simon would be visiting different cities in North America, Europe and the UK. The tour will conclude on July 15 at London's Hyde Park where he will be joined by Bonnie Raitt and James Taylor.
This will be the legendary rocker's last touring concert but he will, however, perform "periodic benefit concerts"in the future“in a (hopefully) acoustically pristine hall."
The 76-year-old posted the news on both his Facebook and Twitter pages. He cited two main reasons for this decision:The September death of his longtime lead guitarist, Vincent N’guini, and because “the travel and time away from my wife and family takes a toll that detracts from the joy of playing.”
