A stunning discovery of an infamous optical illusion dress – which had become viral on the internet in 2015 – went viral on TikTok after it was again found by a woman at a yard sale.

In 2015, the dress became a huge topic of debate after a mother shared apicture of it before her daughter's wedding andpeople could not decide if the garment's colour was black and blue or gold and white.

The debate had turned so fierce that scientists devised theories on why different colours were seen by different people when presented with the image.

The British brand Roman Originals made the dress and it was black and blue. The dress has again gone viral after it resurfaced in a yard sale in Burlington, Vermont.

Amanda Rubinstein discovered the dress and shared it on TikTok. “I’m at a yard sale and they have a lot of great stuff, including the dress. I knew it was blue," she said in the video.

Speaking to Newsweek, Rubinstein said, "The dress was one of the first items I saw when I walked up to the yard sale. I immediately screamed, 'Oh my goodness, you have THE DRESS!' I was in utter shock. The owners and other neighbours had a nice laugh at my expressive reaction upon seeing it."

"I wasn't sure if it would fit, but I knew an opportunity to own one of the most iconic dresses of the internet age doesn't come around often," she added.

“What a beautiful white and gold dress!” wrote a person.

“That is a nice WHITE AND GOLD dress," commented another.

"You should upload this exact video but everything is hue shifted so the dress looks white and gold," commented another.
