'It's time to say goodbye': Yuvraj Singh announces retirement from international cricket

Yuvraj Singh has announced retirement from international cricket saying that it is the right time to say goodbye to the sport.
The all-rounder, accompanied by his wife and mother, told reporters of his decision at a city hotel close to the Wankhede Stadium where India lifted their last 50-overs World Cup title in 2011.
"I have decided to move on. Cricket has given me everything and that's why I am standing here," he said after being reduced to tears by a video of the highlights of his career.
"It’s been a love-hate relationship."
"This game taught me how to fight," said teary-eyed Yuvraj during a press conference.

In 2000, Yuvraj made his international debut against Kenya when was selected in the Indian squad for the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy after his impressive performances for the Under-19 team.
India's 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj has played a total of 304 One-Day International matches and amassed 8701 runs. In Test, his run-aggregate is 1900 in 40 matches he played in his career.
Yuvraj Singh, who is one of India's greatest limited overs cricketers, last played a Test in 2012 and ODI and T20 in 2017.
For his contribution in sports, Yuvraj was conferred with the Arjuna Award in In 2012 which is second highest sporting award by the Government of India.
In 2014, he was awarded the Padma Shri which is India's fourth highest civilian honour.
