Skipper Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik were building a crucial partnership but lost their wicket after scoring 71 and 21 runs.
After a splendid performance by the English bowling unit in the final One-Day International match, India were restricted to an easily chasable total of 256 runs.
For England, leg-spinner Adil Rashid took three important wickets. He outbowled Suresh Raina, skipper Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik.
Suresh Raina scored just one run, however, Virat and Karthik were building a crucial partnership but lost their wicket after scoring 71 and 21 runs.
Another bowler, David Willey too took three wickets. Opener Rohit Sharma went back to pavilion after scoring just 2 runs.
Willey got another breakthrough for England when he took MS Dhoni's wicket in the death overs.
It was expected that Hardik Pandya would salvage the innings but after scoring 21 runs he edged the ball into the safe hands of Jos Buttler on a beautiful delivery of Mark Wood.
