As monsoon swept through India in the past week, an incident in Uttarakhand's Haldwani area brought back the horrors of floods.

In the video, two cars were seen close to an auto rickshaw with flood water about to sweep away the first car, a few minutes later four men hurridly got off from the first car and climbed onto to the auto rickshaw.

Just seconds later, the first car was swept away by the flood water.Just then, the second car too disappeared along with the auto rickshaw.

Rains in Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Gujarat and Assam has led to the death of at least 485 people so far.

In Assam, 10.17 lakh people were affected by rains and floods, of which 2.17 lakh were living in relief camps.

Heavy rainfall has affected many areas in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR too. Eighty people have been killed in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the past one week. The Ganga is overflowing in Fatehgarh, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Garhmukteshwar, Fafamau in Allahabad, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia. The Yamuna is rising in Baghpat, Mathura, Agra, Auraiya, Kalpi and Hamirpur.

A day of rain led to mayhem in many areas of the National Capital Region (NCR). While a section of road was washed away in Ghaziabad, there were reports of basement of many housing societies being flooded. THe heavy showers also affected normal traffic in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
