US President Donald Trump's key advisor to Presidential campaign 2020 Steven Rogers spoke to WION about America's stand on China, trade war and ties with India.
Rogers stated that the United States and India are good friends and will always be. "Our friendship is solid and robust. We enjoy strong military ties and the United States supports India in its concerns over security and terrorism," he added.
He described India as an important country stating that Indians are contributing a "lot of good to the world".

"They are going to work together, they are friendly, we are going to see good things happen in the future," Rogers said.

"India wants peace, India is one of the important countries on the face of the earth and wants to ensure cooperation and balance of power across the globe," Rogers noted.
Endgame with China
Throughout the interview, Rogers maintained that he is not speaking on behalf of the US President and stating only what he knows from first-hand information. He described Donald Trump as a "transparent president" who is looking out for the welfare of his people.
"He is not a politician, he is a negotiator, a good one. The endgame with China is to achieve transparency and fairness. Every nation looks out for its people, he wants to do the same. He is trying very hard to negotiate with China," Rogers stated.
