Two workers were killed and nine others injured after a reactor blast triggered a fire at a pharmaceutical company in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, police said on Saturday (Aug 22).
The incident took place late Friday night at a unit in Pochampally mandal, reportedly as workers were changing shifts.
A police official said two people died in the incident, while nine others were injured. Among the injured, two suffered burns affecting more than 50 per cent of their bodies, while seven sustained minor injuries.
Injured shifted to hospitals
The injured workers were taken to different hospitals for treatment, police said. Firefighters were also called to the site and subsequently brought the blaze under control.
Authorities have not yet disclosed what caused the reactor blast or provided further details on the operation taking place at the unit when the incident occurred.
