The Supreme Court of India will hear the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute case on Friday. The bench comprising of three judges and headed by Court Justice of India, Dipak Misra will be hearing the case at 2 pm.

On behalf of the original appellant Jameet Ulema Hind K M Siddiqui, the lawyer Rajiv Dhawan had argued for the transfer of the piece of Ismail Farooqi case to the Constitution bench for reconsideration.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had accused groups of delaying the hearings of the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi ownership suit. The Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the state government, had opposed the demand of the opposing side to send the Constitution Bench for reconsideration of the Masjid non-acceptance of the mosque as an integral part of the 1994 Ismail Farooqi verdict.

Mehta had said that it is not good to raise such demand after so many days. Appeals on the Ayodhya Janmabhoomi title suit are fully prepared for hearing but these people are trying to delay it, he observed.

However, on behalf of the other group, Rajiv Dhawan said that the mosque is an integral part of Islam and the comment made in the Ismail Farooqi verdict is wrong, so decision should be sent to the Constitution Bench for reconsideration. In the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi ownership rights case, a total of 13 appeals against Allahabad High Court's decision have been pending in the Supreme Court since 2010, but formal hearings have not yet started on the main appeals.
