RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary joins PM Modi 3.0 council of ministers
Jayant Chaudhary
Jayant Chaudhary, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) party leader, was sworn in as minister of state in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third council of ministers.
Chaudhary is the son of Ajit Singh, a well-known politician in western Uttar Pradesh, and the grandson of former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. He has been actively engaged in politics since 2009.
Chaudhary had established an alliance with Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2022.
Out of the 403 seats, the RLD ran for 33 and won 8 of them. Chaudhary did not fightthe elections but played an important role in the campaign.
Chaudhary joined the NDA after his grandfather, Chaudhary Charan Singh, the fifth Prime Minister of India, was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian distinction, in February of this year.

Chaudhary was earlier associated with Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party. He joined hands with NDA ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Jayant Chaudhary is the National Vice-President of the Rashtriya Lok Dal. Heran in the 2009 Lok Sabha Elections from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
Jayant Chaudhary was a member of the FICCI Indo-British Forum of Parliamentarians' chair committee. In addition, he participated actively in the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Venezuela and India.
Jayant Chaudhary, who was born in 1978, graduated from Delhi University's Sri Venkateswara College. He also has a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
