Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to introduce new Rs 100 denomination banknotes shortly, reported news agency ANI.
The new banknotes to be issued under Mahatma Gandhi Series has the motif of “RANI KI VAV” on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage.
The base colour of the note is Lavender, ANI reported quoting RBI statement.
''Will shortly issue Rs 100 denomination banknotes. This new denomination has the motif of “RANI KI VAV” on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage. The base colour of the note is Lavender,'' RBI statement stated.
The existing 100 rupee note will continue to be legal tender, added RBI.
