Pune Porsche case: Accused teenager's father, Vishal Agarwal, gets bail

Vishal Agarwal, father of the 17-year-old accused in a horrific car crash that killed two motorbike-borne people in the west Indian city of Pune, was granted bail in the first case registered against him by a sessions court.
Agarwal, a real estate developer, was booked under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA) and the Juvenile Justice Act (JJA) for 'failing to do his duty as a guardian'. He got the bail in primary case where he was booked under sections 75 & 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
Advocate Prashant Patil, lawyer of the father of the minor accused, said, "My client has been granted bail by the Sessions Court in Pune. It is his duty to abide by the conditions imposed by the Court and shall continue to cooperate with the investigation agency."
As per reports, Agarwal currently has two pending cases - kidnapping and threatening the family driver, forcing him to take the blame on himself and 2) Manipulation of the blood sample.

The teen has been accused of running over two motorbike-borne 24-year-old IT professionals Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, in Kalyani Nagar, Pune in the early hours of May 19 with hisPorsche car. The police claimed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol at that time, with an investigation currently underway.
The case turned out to be a matter of massive outrage when reports emerged that the accused got VIP treatment after he was arrested. Reports claimed that he was allowed to eat pizza at the police station and take a nap, and his medical test was allegedly delayed. He was allowed to walk out on bail with the condition of writing a 300-word essay and helping the traffic police.
