Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh experience unexpected hailstorm; crops damaged

According to the media reports, three farmers have lost their lives during the hailstorms
Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) has issued an advisory urging farmers to prepare for "untimely rains and hailstorms".
On Sunday, several states inthe country woke up to sudden change in the weather with heavy rains and hailstorms causing severe cropdamage.
Districts which were most hit in Maharashtra included Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, Dhule, Nandurbar, Aurangabad among others.
According to the media reports, three farmers have losttheir lives during the hailstorms.Rabi crops was reportedly damaged during the unexpected hailstorm. Several farmers lostcottonand wheat crops, reports said.
Agriculture minister of Maharashtra Pandurang Pundalik Fundkar ordered assessment into the cropdamage.
