Russia has seized three Ukrainian naval ships in a strait near Moscow-annexed Crimea, raising fears of military escalation and prompting an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday.

US officials briefly closed a border crossing in southern California on Sunday after hundreds of migrants, part of the "caravan" condemned by President Donald Trump, tried to breach a fence from the Mexican city of Tijuana, authorities announced.

Delhi auto driver lynched on suspicion of theft

An autorickshaw driver was lynched in Delhi's Uttam Nagar on Saturday on the suspicion of theft. 

Police said two men had boarded Avinash Kumar's auto. They later got off but asked Kumar to wait for them. 

Kumar meanwhile went to urinate. When he came back, police said, he saw a crowd thrashing the men.

The duo told the mob that Kumar was their leader, following which the crowd attacked him.

The duo had allegedly stolen batteries and kept them in Kumar's autorickshaw, the police said.

6.4 earthquake rocks western Iran; over 250 injured

A strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit Iran's western province of Kermanshah late Sunday, the country's institute of geophysics said, with local officials reporting some 260 people injured.
