The PM is on a five-day visit to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who arrived in Rwanda on Monday was received by President of Rwanda Paul Kagame. 

The PM is on a five-day visit to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa.

Modi also received ceremonial reception at Kigali International Airport upon his arrival in Rwanda.

Modi and Paul Kagame also a held a bilateral meeting in Kigali, Rwanda.

Following his bilateral visits to two countries in East Africa, he will take part in BRICS summit in South Africa. This will be the second visit of Prime Minister Modi to Africa. During his first visit, he visited six African countries. 

Modi's Rwanda state visit to Rwanda will be followed by Uganda from July 24 to 25 and 10th BRICS summit. 

Prime Minister’s official engagement in Rwanda and Uganda include bilateral meetings with the presidents, delegation level talks, and meetings with the business and the Indian communities. 

According to a release by the ministry of external affairs, a number of agreements and MoUs in the areas of Defence, trade, culture, Agriculture and Dairy cooperation are scheduled to be signed during the visits."
