Former Mumbai captain Shishir Hattangadi has said he is ready to testify against BCCI CEO Rahul Johri who has been accused of sexual misconduct.

In a tweet on Friday, Hattangadi said he would assist the BCCI in the Rahul Johri case. Hattangadi said he was "putting my hand up" as a former captain. He also tweeted that individuals cannot be above the game.

"If the @BCCI want information about @RJohri on #metoo I am happy to assist them. I am putting my hand up as a former Captain!", he said.

"It's not about @RJohri and their ilk,its about representing a country's sport through the @BCCI on a world forum, that is revered. Individuals cannot be above the game. Caesar's wife must be above suspicion if at all, there is suspicion!" Hattangadi added.

The Committee of Administrators (COA) had formed a three-member panel to investigate the accusations of sexual harassment against Johri.

Johri's sacking had been demanded by COA member Diana Edulji and others but that had reportedly been opposed by COA chairman Vinod Rai. (The COA has two members.)

Johri has been accused of sexual assault by at least one unnamed woman. On Saturday, news reports said a second woman had accused the BCCI CEO of asking for sexual favours.

The reports said the woman had addressed her complaint specifically to Diana Edulji.
