Delhi: Man with knife, India flag tries to enter Kerala House
Man enters Kerala House
Kerala CM Pinari Vijayan was in Kerala House at the time. The intruder is reportedly unstable and has been sent to the Institue of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences in Shahdara.
A man with a knife in his handtried to enter the Kerala House in Delhi on Saturday at the time when Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan was inside the premises.
However, he was brought down by security officials before he could enter the main building.
According to reports, the man screamed as he attempted to barge inside the Kerala House with a knife in his hand and a national flag in his shirt's front pocket. He also had a stack of papers in his hand.
It is not clear so far, whether the man was trying to assault Pinarayi Vijayan or not. However, media reports have said that hewanted to meet the chief minister. Later he threatened to commit suicide after which the authorities pinned him to the ground and handed him over to the police.
News agency PTI reported that the man is unstable and has been sent to the Institue of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences in Shahdara.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed his concern over the incident and for the Kerala chief minister.
"Just spoke to @vijayanpinarayi to express my concern over the attempted assault on him in Delhi. The politics of violence must end in India. I call on @PMOIndia to send a strong message to all that in our democracy there is no place for knives, guns or mob-lynchers. @CMOKerala," Tharoor wrote on Twitter.
This was the second incident in the day of someoneattempting to breach VIP security.
Earlier in the day, a man was gunned down by the security personnel on trying to enter the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah.
Identified as Murfas Shah -- a resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch area -- was unarmed when he forced his way through the VIP gate in an SUV.
