Ajmeri Abdul Rashid, allegedly involved in the 2002 terror attack on Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar was arrested on the early morning of Saturday when he came to Ahmedabad from Riyadh
The Ahmedabad crime branch has arrested the main accused responsible for a terrorist attack in Gandhinagar's Akshardham in 2002.
Ajmeri Abdul Rashid, allegedly involved in the terrorist attack on Akshardham Temple was arrested on the early morning of Saturday when he came to Ahmedabad from Riyadh.
The terror attack that was conducted on the Akshardham temple on September 24, 2002, had claimed the lives of 32 people, injuring several others.
Three commandoes also died while countering the terror attack.
Rashid is the brother of Adam Ajmeri who was acquitted by the Supreme court in 2014.
The Supreme Court in 2014 acquitted six people in the attack because of lack of evidence.
