The executive meet holds importance as it is being held days before Nitish Kumar's July 12 meeting with BJP chief Amit Shah.

The JD(U) had announced earlier that it would contest elections on the highest number of seats among the NDA allies in Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The party further added that the BJP was free to fight the elections alone without forming an alliance with them.

The announcement came amid the ongoing tussle between the BJP and the JD(U) over contesting on more number of seats in the general elections.
