An input shared by Intelligence Agencies warns of a possible ‘fidayeen attack’ in the national capital.
According to intelligence sources, terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed is planning an attack in Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day 2018.
As per media reports, Jaish Chief Masood Azhar's brother named Abdul Rauf Ashgar's ex-bodyguard, Ebrahim Ismail alias Lambu is reported to have received training and is behind the planning of an attack on 15 August in Delhi.
Reports also say that Jaish has sent two of their commandos in Kashmir valley so as to prepare for the attack. The other terrorist who has crossed over along with Ebrahim Ismail or Lambu is Masood Azhar's elder brother's son named Umar.
Earlier in July, there were reports of Pakistan-based jihadist group Jaish-e-Muhammad, reportedly training its cadres in deep sea diving with the aim to target "strategic assets" of the Indian Navy.
Meanwhile on Saturday, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in a strong message to Pakistan, asserted that every infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir from across the border would be thwarted.
“I am here as defence minister to take care of our borders to stop infiltration. I will keep doing that irrespective of what is happening there (in Pakistan). Our stand remains the same. Every attempt of infiltration will be thwarted,” she said.
