Actor Salman Khan who was recently convicted in the blackbuck case is one of the three convicts in the killing of the rare species in the last 27 years.
In over two decades, only three people have been convicted by the court for killing blackbucks in the country.
While FIR has been registered in 161 cases, the court delivered the verdict on72. Out of this 69 accused were released due to "benefit of doubt".
The court pronounced punishment to only three accused after declaring them guilty.
Salman Khan is one of the three convicts who have been awarded punishment in the Blackbuck killing case.
The case against Salman Khan was registered in1998-99 and he was recently convicted and pronounced to 5 years imprisonment in addition to a fine of Rs 10,000.

The case against the first convict was registered in 1995-96. The person who was arrested for the first time in the casewas sentenced to two years of imprisonment along with fine of Rs 2000.
The case against the third accused was registered in 2000-2001 and the person was awarded imprisonment of 1 year along with a fine of Rs 1,000.
