Bharatiya Janata Party MP Meenakshi Lekhi on Saturday attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his challenge to prime minister Narendra Modi for an open debate.
The news agency ANI quoted Lekhi as saying that in a Jat village, the chief is only challenged by the weakest man and the man who drinks the most.
"This is a similar situation," she added.
Earlier there were reports that Rahul Gandhi has challenged PMModi for an open debate. In April also he had dared PM Modi for 15-minutes open debate in Parliament. He had said, "PM Modi can't face me in Parliament".
Continuing her attack on Rahul Gandhi, Meenakshi Lekhi also slammed Gandhi over reports of him joining protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi over the Muzaffarpur shelter home case called by RJD leader, Tejshwani Yadav.
She said, "We know what happens in Rahul Gandhi's protests, even Priyanka Gandhi can't be assured of safety. And now Tejashwi Yadav is too a part of it. No women will be safe."
The RJD is protesting at Jantar Mantar against mass rapes in Muzaffarpur shelter home.
According to media reports, the protest will be joined by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Student activists and Kanhaiya Kumar and Shehla Rashid have also joined the protest.
