Saran: In a devastating incident in Bihar’s Saran district, a 15-year-old boy named Krishna Kumar has died following gallbladder stone removal surgery performed by a self-styled 'doctor', Ajit Kumar Puri, who relied on YouTube videos for guidance.
The family was unaware of Puri's qualifications and later suspected him of being unqualified. "We think he was self-styled and fake," they said.
According to a report by NDTV, Krishna Kumar was taken to Ganpati Hospital in Saran after experiencing severe vomiting. The so-called 'doctor,' Ajit Kumar Puri, claimed that an operation was necessary and proceeded with the surgery without obtaining consent from Krishna’s family.
According to Krishna’s grandfather, Prahlad Prasad Shaw, the boy seemed to improve after the vomiting stopped. However, Puri then sent Krishna’s father away and performed the surgery while relying on YouTube videos for guidance without telling the family.

When questioned about why they chose to take Krishna Kumar to the self-styled 'doctor' Ajit Kumar Puri despite concerns over his qualifications, the family said, “We just wanted the vomiting to stop. He conducted the operation without our consent.”
After the surgery, Krishna’s condition worsened, and he stopped breathing. Despite being briefly revived with CPR, he died while being rushed to a hospital in Patna. The 'doctor' and his team abandoned Krishna’s body at the hospital’s entrance and fled.
According to NDTV, the sudden disappearance of the staff from Ganpati Seva Sadan has left other patients at the hospital without care. Meanwhile, the police have filed an FIR and sent the teen's body for autopsy. Authorities are actively searching for the self-styled doctor and the missing staff members.
