Praveen Akhtar, a civilian, succumbed to injuries on Saturday night after Pakistani troops opened fire on the International border in Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased has been identified as the resident of Lehren in Nowshera sector of Rajouri.

Praveenwas killed after she was hit by a bullet fired by the Pakistani troopsat around 10:35 pm.

The Pakistani forces have previously launched mortar shells at civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC).

A45-year-oldwoman was killed in shelling on February 8 along the LoC in the KG sector.

A total of 19 people including 10 security personnel and nine civilians have been killed and over 75 have been injured in Pakistani shelling in the Jammu region this year.
