Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited Rajghat and paid tribute to 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi. He visited Sadaiv Atal Samadhi and paid tribute to late ex-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took to Twitter and posted glimpses of his visit at the memorial of 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and Sadaiv Atal Samadhi, the memorial dedicated to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"Motivated by Atal Ji’s life and work, we will strive to enhance good governance and transform lives," Modi tweeted. 

"Paid tributes to respected Bapu at Rajghat. This year, we mark the 150th Jayanti of Bapu. May this special occasion further popularise Bapu’s noble ideals and continue inspiring us to empower the lives of the poor, downtrodden and marginalised," the tweet read".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited Rajghat and paid tribute to 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi. He visited Sadaiv Atal Samadhi and paid tribute to late ex-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Modi was accompanied by party chief Amit Shah and other BJP leaders.

Before taking oath as the prime minister for the second consecutive term today, Modi on Thursday morning visited National War Memorial and paid tribute to India's martyrs. The memorial is spread over 40 acres and is dedicated to the martyrs.  

At the memorial, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman also joined Modi and other BJP leaders. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria were also present.

Modi is set to take oath as the prime minister for the second term today evening. The ceremony will be administered by President Kovind and will see as many 8,000 guests in attendance.
