Focus is now on next five years, team will deliver better: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday evening addressed his Office (PMO) staff at the end of his first term. 

Speaking at the lawn of the South Block, the prime minister said that teamwork has led to this historic win, adding that throughout these five years, the party didn't divert its dedication. 

PM Modi said that his team is better now and is ready to deliver better. 

"The focus is now on the next five years," he said as he interacted with the PMO staff. 

Beating the anti-incumbency of his first five years in power, Prime Minister Modi on Thursday secured an even greater mandate for the second straight term.

Marking another historic victory, PM Modi-led BJP crossed over 300 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. The party had won 282 seats in the 2014 general election.

Prime Minister Modi will in Gujarat Gujarat on Sunday to seek blessings from his mother. 

In a tweet posted on Saturday, the prime minister stated that he will be in Gujarat on Sunday after which he will head to his Parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, on Monday "to thank the people of this great land for reposing their faith in me," his tweet read.

"Will be going to Gujarat tomorrow evening, to seek blessings of my Mother. Day after tomorrow morning, I will be in Kashi to thank the people of this great land for reposing their faith in me," PM Modi had tweeted.
