Johnny Wactor: Crowdfunding page for slain actor collects $50,000 in 24 hours
Hollywood actor Johnny Wactor
Friends of late General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor started a crowdfunding campaign for his family and have managed to collect more than $50,000 in donations in one day. The GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign was started by Johnny’s godmother Michaelle Kinard after he was shot and killed in a tragic accident as three assailants tried to steal his car on May 25. Johnny happened to be at the site when this theft took place and was fatally shot by the robbers.
The crowdfunding goal is set at $100,000 and has exceeded $83,900 from 800 donations and counting.

The crowdfunding page reads: “On May 25, my dearest and best friend’s son was murdered. He was the victim of the most senseless crime. Johnny Wactor, (known to many as Brando Corbin on ‘General Hospital’), was living his dream in L.A. Early Saturday morning, Johnny was leaving his evening job with a coworker when they came upon three guys attempting to steal his catalytic converter. He thought he was going to be towed and said ‘Am I being towed?’ The person stood up with a mask on and said nothing and shot him.”
The page further reads: “Johnny was the kindest soul. My heart is utterly broken and somehow we NEED justice for Johnny! I want to raise money for his mother, Scarlett, and his brothers, Lance and Grant, to be able to travel the distance of 2,000 miles (the many times it may take) to take care of this heartbreaking business which they have been sentenced.

She also made an appeal with the law enforcement to ban the killers and wrote, “With God‘s will, the killer will be arrested and the family will see him face to face. This may help bring closure to this tragedy. Any excess donations will be donated to the charities the family chooses in memory of Johnny.”
Remembering Johnny Wactor
Johnny Wactor had famously portrayed Brando, son of Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Borroughs) who was married to drug addict Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson), in General Hospital. The show ran for several seasons but Johnny appeared in it from 2020 to 2022. He appeared in more than 160 episodes. He also starred in shows like Army Wives, Westworld, Station 19, Siberia, Agent X, Animal Kingdom, Criminal Minds, and more.
