In a disturbing update, Jacob Elordi has become the latest celebrity to be attacked by deepfakes as the Euphoria star’s face was combined with that of a minor boy’s body in a sexually explicit video.
The now-viral video was shared on platform X and was viewed more than 3 million times this week. The deepfake features Elordi in a sexually explicit video as it uses his face ona 17-year-old boy’s body. The boy’s video was picked up from his OnlyFans account. The original person in the video has confirmed that he was 17 at the time when the video was filmed.
The viral video sparked chatter on social media as Jacob Elordi’s fans instantly recognised that it wasn’t the actor in the video since he had a distinctive birthmark on his chest.
The OnlyFans creator who is featured in the original video has spoken out against the Elordi deepfake on his own X account. He wrote, “That’s literally my video” and “deep fake is getting creepy.” He also replied to several of the posts containing the deepfake and asked for them to be deleted. The boy is now 19 years old and lives in Brazil, according to NBC News.
AI-powered deepfakes have become a growing menace for famous people whose photographs are easily available on the internet. Prior to Jacob Elordi, several actors all over the world have fallen prey to the same. A couple of months back, X had to apologise and remove deepfakes of Taylor Swift. Other high-profile women who have been targeted are Megan Thee Stallion and numerous TikTok stars.
These deepfakes usually take the face of a famous person and combine it with a pornographic video using artificial intelligence or technology that can produce a similar result. Nonconsensual sexually explicit videos that swap a person’s face into a pornographic video are one of the most prevalent forms of deepfakes.
