'Don 3' in the making? Fans feel teased as Farhan Akhtar starts working on his next script

Is Shah Rukh Khan to be soon seen as ‘Don’ in its third instalment? So far, no such official announcement has been made. But a recent picture of Farhan Akhtar is doing the rounds on social media, which has left netizens speculating if he is working on the script of ‘Don 3.’

Farhan’s partner in Excel Entertainment, filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani, on Saturday posted a photo on Instagram where Farhan could be seen with his laptop in writer mode. Ritesh captioned the post by mentioning that Farhan has started working on his next script.

He wrote, "100% focus even when he’s putting pen to paper (err.. fingers to keyboard) @faroutakhtar is back in writer mode after a long hiatus. Guess what he’s working on…" he captioned the post. In the picture, busy Farhan can be seen with a pen and paper in the study room.

As soon as the post was posted, fans rushed to the comment section and started questioning what Farhan was up to. Some assumed that he must be working on ‘Jee Le Zara’, while friends from the industry too could not stop commenting on the post. Ali Fazal commented, "Well the painting behind has a toofani vibe," On the other hand, Divyenndu said, "I know he’s writing something special for me, let it be a surprise!!"

Fans wondered if Farhan is working on ‘Don 3', and in the hope that soon an announcement about the film will be made, Twitter was flooded with speculative reactions regarding "Don 3’. "Please destroy his laptop if he isn't writing Don 3," one Twitter user said, while another wrote, "Don is back."

Shah Rukh Khan’s 2006 ‘Don’ was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 starrer ‘Don’ that also had Zeenat Aman in the lead role. The story was written by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. A sequel to the film was released in 2011, and since then, speculations about another instalment of the film keep popping up on social media.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has announced three big projects: ‘Pathaan’, ‘Dunki’ and "Jawan’ whose teaser was released on Friday. 'Jawan' is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 2, 2023, and will be produced in multiple languages.
