In the summer of 2015, SS Rajamouli's epic period drama Baahubali: The Beginning took the box office by storm. The movie was not just a runaway hit in India but was also the highest grossing Indian film across the world. Baahubali’s US collections reached an astonishing $800,000 only through advance bookings. The movie was made on a massive budget of 2500 million Indian Rupees ($37 mn), making it the most expensive film ever produced in the Indian subcontinent.
The film’s trailer earned 4.05 million views on YouTube; in fact, the Telugu and Hindi trailers crossed 1 million views each within 24 hours of being posted online.
Now, the movie’s makers are once again ready to break records and raise the bar with the second part of the series - Baahubali: The Conclusion, which will release in April 2017. Recently, at the JIOMami Mumbai Festival, the team shared footage of the sets of the upcoming sequel in virtual reality domain. Through this, fans can enjoy experiences of being virtually present on the sets.
