
Domestic stock markets on Friday opened in green with BSE Sensex rising by over 250 points in early trade to touch 36,065.78. Nifty on the other hand, rose by 72 points at 10,852.05.
Meanwhile, the rupee rose on Friday by 30 paise to 70.05 against the US currency in opening trade aided by foreign fund inflows amid a weak dollar globally and sharp fall in crude oil prices.
Domestic stock markets, which opened with gains of up to 1 per cent, also supported the local currency.
On Thursday, rising for the second straight day, the BSE benchmark Sensex jumped 157 points amid expiry of December series derivatives contracts and positive global cues, news agency PTI reported.
After rallying close to 400 points earlier in the session, the 30-share index pared some gains but finished 157.34 points or 0.44 per cent, higher at 35,807.28.
The broader NSE Nifty rose 49.95 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 10,779.80.
