Indian American Democratic Party fundraiser and supporter of the United States Vice President Kamala Harris, Ajay Bhutoria, has been receiving racist and threatening messages, asking him to leave the US and return to India.
Bhutoria received a text message on Sunday (Nov 10) from an unidentified number, saying, "You claim that you are doing what's best for Americans, but you aren't doing anything for Americans and you don't care about America. You are Indian. You only care about Indians. You do what's best for India. Why are you here? Stop being a beggar in America and become a leader in India."
Bhutoria is also currently serving as the deputy national finance chair at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and national finance committee member for the Harris-Walz campaign.
He is also the commissioner of the US President Joe Biden'sadvisory commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
The Indian American Democratic Party fundraiser has also worked significantly in addressing concerns of various legal immigrant communities.
Bhutoria told Indian news agency PTI, "Trump supporters asking me to go back to India to fight for green card backlog."

He also shared some of the messages on social media platforms, which included statements like, "Stop being a beggar in America and to be a leader in India."
Republican candidate Donald Trump clinched victory in the US Presidential elections after securing over 270 electoral votes needed.
Trump, on Thursday, bagged 72,448,303 votes, making him the first republican to have won US elections on popular vote.
