A marriage took a dark and ugly turn in China when a wife decided to remove the life-support system of her dying husband inrevenge for his infidelity.
The incident took place in Liaoning province in northeastern China where a 38-year-old man was living with his lover even though he was still married.
His extramarital affair was exposed when the man suffered a cerebral haemorrhage at his lover's house and she rushed him to the hospital for an emergency treatment, as reported by NetEase News.
After the man was admitted to the intensive care unit, the doctors looked out for the lover to get her consent for surgery, however, she had left the hospital.
After this another woman came to the hospital and informed the doctors that she was the man's wife.

The wife was informed that the current medical equipment will be able to sustain him temporarily andhe will require surgery, the cost of which is very high.
The wife informed the doctors that she was aware of her husband's extramarital affair and that he had no feelings for herand also did not provideany financial support. She further accepted that she also had no feelings for him.

As per Chinese law, if a patient is not in a state to make a decision, the doctors need to explain the surgery risks to the close relatives of the patient and get their written consent.
The actions of the wife led to widespread debate on Chinese social media. “She is heartless. No matter what, giving up treatment is giving up a life,” said one user.
“This unfaithful man is in critical condition and the surgery is unlikely to save him. This is his karma,” another user wrote.
“Your wife will accompany you until old age. Treating your wife well is treating yourself well,” a third user said.
