Kuwait: Couple divorces within three minutes after husband calls wife stupid for tripping over

A couple divorced just three minutes after being declared husband and wife after the groom allegedly insulted the bride for tripping over while walking back the aisle. According to a report by Independent's Indy, the incident occurred as the newlyweds were leaving the courthouse after the formal conclusion of formal proceedings.

The bride tripped, and the groom called her "stupid" for falling over.

Outraged by the insult, the bride immediately demanded the judge annul their marriage. The judge complied, making it one of the shortest marriages in recorded history of the United Kingdom.

This 2019 incident has recently resurfaced on social media and has sparked multiple discussions about respect in relationships.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) recounted a similar experience: "I went to a wedding where the groom spent his speech making fun of his wife like it was some kind of roast, as did her father. She should have done what this woman did."

Another user commented, "A marriage with no respect is a failed one right from the beginning," while a third added, "If this is how he acts right at the beginning, it's better to leave him."

Short-lived marriages are not unprecedented.

In 2004, a couple, Scott McKie and Victoria Anderson, divorced just 90 minutes after their wedding at the Stockport Register Office in Greater Manchester.

The marriage ended after Anderson struck her husband with an ashtray in response to his inappropriate toast to her bridesmaids. McKie was subsequently arrested for assaulting police officers who were called to the scene, while Anderson celebrated their divorce by cancelling their honeymoon plans.
