Earlier on Friday, the Indian paddlers stormed into the final after defeating Malaysian pair of Ying Ho and Karen Lyne.

The two started dominating from the very first game and continued their momentum throughout the three games, rubbishing any chances of the Malaysian combo's efforts of making a comeback into the contest.

Meanwhile, Wrestler Pooja Dhanda also bagged a silver medal in the women's 57-kilogram wrestling at the 21st Commonwealth Games 2018 on Friday.

Pooja lost 5-7 to defending champion Odunayo Adekuoroye of Nigeria in the final.
